HR and people ops
A directory, attendance, leave, payroll and expenses, with approvals that land with the right person.

Directory & attendance
Who can do this
Owners, admins and the HR role. Everyone else sees their own profile, their attendance and their leave.
Before you start
- A Teams plan or above.
Step by step
- 1
Build the directory
Open HR and add each person with their role, department, start date and manager. The directory is what every other HR screen reads from, so do this first.
- 2
Set the working week and holidays
Configure working days, hours and public holidays for your region. Attendance and leave balances are both calculated from these.
- 3
Set leave policies
Define the leave types you offer and how much each person gets. Balances are tracked automatically and shown to each person on their own profile.
- 4
Let people clock in
Staff clock in and out from their own screen. Managers see today at a glance, and a missed clock-in can be corrected with an approval rather than edited quietly.
- 5
Handle requests
Leave requests, attendance corrections and expense claims arrive in Approvals. Approve or decline with a reason; the person is notified either way and their balance updates.
- 6
Run payroll
Set salaries and allowances per person, then generate payslips for the period. Each payslip breaks down base, allowances and deductions.
- 7
Onboard and offboard
Use the onboarding checklist for a new joiner so nothing depends on someone remembering, and the offboarding one to make sure access and equipment actually come back.
Worth knowing
- Salary visibility is a separate permission from admin. Someone can run the directory without seeing pay.
- Ask HR answers policy questions from your own documents, so people stop asking the same thing.
- Department scoping lets a manager approve only for their own team.
Common questions
Who can see salaries?
Only owners and people explicitly given the salary permission. It is off for admins by default.
Can someone correct a missed clock-in?
They raise a correction and a manager approves it. The original record is never silently overwritten.
Does it handle several countries?
Working weeks, holidays and currency are configurable, and departments can differ. Local payroll filing is outside the product.
